We feel so fortunate to have walked into J&M Kitchen & Bath and found Paul Preister to help us with our kitchen remodel project.  Paul’s years of experience really prevented us from making some costly mistakes, and every gentle caution that he gave us about certain design decisions turned out to be absolutely true….of course!  It can also be nerve wracking to order things like cabinets based upon small samples only, with no real idea about how they will look, especially if you wanted a more customized style, as we did. You wonder if you will be spending a lot of money for something that you will not like, but that is Paul’s specialty, to guide you through all of the many options and help you visualize a final result.  In fact, when I questioned a particular color and finish for a vent hood, wondering if it would go with the rest of the design, Paul reassured me that it would complement the design, and told me that he could visualize it, so we trusted that, and WOW!  The vent hood is the first thing that everyone comments upon when seeing our new kitchen for the first time.  Cabinet and appliance deliveries were handled smoothly, with Paul ensuring that all design partners worked seamlessly together with J&M. Our contractors also mentioned that they had never seen such detailed and extensive CAD drawings and instructions from any other design company, and when I mentioned this to Paul, he advised me that he creates those drawings as if he was installing things himself.  Our contractors specifically mentioned how unusually detailed and helpful they were.  That was absolutely another plus about working with Paul, he understood every little intricacy about construction and installation, as he has years of experience in both.  We would give Paul and J&M a five star rating overall, and we plan to use them again for our future bathroom remodeling project!

Over the past few years I have had the pleasure of working with your firm and your talented designer, Paul Preister. I met Paul through a mutual friend whose kitchen your firm remodeled with Paul’s design expertise and direction. The moment I walked into that kitchen, I knew I had found the person who could help me execute my client’s dreams. Now it is my turn for a kitchen and bath remodel and of course I turned to Paul. He took my drawings and ideas and turned them into a 10 page detailed budget, 40 pages of detailed drawings and work orders for the general contractor and 75 ages of product specifications. As all of our dream projects cost more than we like, he has worked endlessly to help me revise to find ways to save. I know he will be right there with me every step of the way during the remodel and will follow through with “issues” that come up on the job.

I researched many Kitchen remodel sites and found JM Kitchen & Bath to have the best reviews. I emailed a designer, Christine Coleman, and she replied immediately. From that moment on Christine, patiently, listened to our wants and needs for our very 1st kitchen remodel. She walked us through design, style and price and relieved any pressure of how ominous the task might be. I just want to say that Mike Thulson did a magnificent piece of artistry with the design of our new kitchen. He has been responsive to our needs and most of all, encouraged us to go ahead with this major investment in our lives, which I must say, we were hesitant about. He has a refreshing honesty which helped guide us. This is better than a trip around the world for me because it made what I love the most, HOME, so much more enjoyable. In fact, everyone I have met through your company has offered their talents in a most helpful way.

We had been planning to remodel our kitchen for several years, and had contacted two other kitchen design companies before we found JM Kitchen & Design. I sent a request to them through their website on a Sunday and received a call almost immediately setting up an appointment for Mike Thulson to come out and look at our kitchen. Mike was very professional and had so many great ideas that we hadn’t thought of. After we agreed on the design of the kitchen, everything went very quickly and smoothly. One of the things we were really impressed with was the help Mike gave us on the day we went out and chose the tile, cabinet hardware, and countertops. Mike helped us pick out what we wanted, and still stay within our budget. Mike and Jacque found the contractor to do the job, Scott with HOW Construction, and everything was scheduled to be done in 5 weeks. We had heard horror stories of kitchen projects dragging out for weeks more than the original schedule, so we were very happy that everything was completed right on time. Jacque was great at getting everything delivered to our home on time, and getting a few things replaced in a timely manner also.

Our contractor, Scott with HOW Construction was an extreme pleasure to have in our house doing the remodel. He single handedly renewed our faith in remodeling contractors. He was on time, or early every day, he was meticulous in his work, and every obstacle was met with confidence and speed. He also made it a point to make sure the job site (our kitchen) was clean and meticulous every day before he left. Scott is a real professional and would recommend him without hesitation. I think the real test of a kitchen remodel is the customer’s level of satisfaction several months after the “shine” has worn off. And I have to say that several months later, I absolutely still LOVE MY KITCHEN!! Mike and Jacque took me through every step of the process, and were there to take care of the details. I really appreciated their input and guidance and also their ability to ‘tease out’ the features and characteristics I wanted in my new kitchen. We updated nearly everything – countertops, cabinets, most appliances, sinks and made updates to the powder room and family room to match the new kitchen look and feel.

When I called Mike Thulson for an estimate for a bathroom vanity, he came to my home to measure the next day and I received a design later that same day. I got two other designs from other companies and Mike’s design was by far the best I received. Mike’s experience and expertise proved to be helpful in not only designing a beautiful but also a functional and spacious vanity. When I called him with questions, he was always very prompt in responding to my phone calls and even made himself available to speak with me while he was on vacation! Ordering was very smooth and when we did encounter a small problem, it was quickly resolved. Jacque Parry of JM was also responsive to our needs and very helpful. I am very happy with our vanity and it is definitely a quality product. I have recommended JM to several people and would not hesitate to use them again.

Paul Preister at JM Kitchen and Bath in Castle Rock is simply the best!!! He is so professional, talented, creative and fun to work with. We did a total rebuild on our kitchen – my husband and I knew it needed totally redone but we did not know what to do with it.
